Dr. Edward Jung graduated from the University of California, San Diego where he double majored with honors in biochemistry and psychology. He earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School where he also obtained a Master’s in Health Care Administration. Concurrently, he completed a research fellowship at Midwest Orthopedics at Rush University, a top-ranked orthopedic center by US News and World Report.
Dr. Jung went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, a bustling Level 1 trauma center, nationally recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in orthopedics. He then completed a surgical fellowship in complex spine surgery at the prestigious University of Washington, Harborview Medical Center spine program. Dr. Jung went on to complete a second surgical fellowship in minimally invasive spine surgery at The Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, Washington.
With a comprehensive background in orthopedics and spine surgery, Dr. Jung treats complex musculoskeletal and spinal conditions caused by degenerative conditions, disc herniations, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, trauma, and tumors. He has authored numerous research articles and has presented his work nationally.
Dr. Jung specializes in minimally invasive techniques, motion sparing technology and the use of computer-assisted navigation, allowing patients to return to activity faster, with less pain and less risk for complications. Dr. Jung is passionate about delivering the highest level of care to his patients. He provides a patient-centered, evidence-based approach and believes in exhausting conservative options prior to surgery.
